Towns across Mayo have reported a strong Christmas trade.

Plans to house 50 male international protection applicants in a Ballinrobe property have been changed, with the Department of Integration confirming yesterday (Monday) that the premises will now be used to house families only.

Tributes are being paid following the death of Terence Killeen from Tulrahan, Claremorris on Friday morning last. The 38-year-old was the sole occupant of a car that collided with another vehicle on the R311 road between Claremorris and Ballinrobe.
