Three people taken to hospital following house fire in the West

Three people have been taken to hospital following a fire that broke out at a house in Galway city this morning.

The blaze broke out at a home in the Wellpark area shortly after 5am this morning.

Emergency services attended the scene at a semi-detached home on the Wellpark Road.

Gardaí say three people were taken to University Hospital Galway, but the extent of their injuries is not known. 

Gardaí remain at the scene and say enquiries are ongoing.
