Local notes: Ballina native dies in Cork
May he rest in peace.
The death has taken place of Walter Galvin, Gortavehy West, Rathmore, Co Cork and formerly of Rathglass West, Knockanillan, Ballina.
Walter was the beloved husband of Marie Collins and father to Mark, Stephen, David, Nikki and Michelle.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Antoinette, Shona and Áine, grandchildren Lucas, Sáoirse, Naoise, Diarmuid, Sadhbh, Daíthi, Maximus and Isabelle, brother John, sisters Amelia and Bernadette, relatives, neighbours and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Ann and John Galvin, and by his first wife Josephine Mulready Galvin.
Walter reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballina on Tuesday of last week. Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Millstreet, Co Cork on Friday, followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Millstreet.
