The provision of further beds at Galway University Hospital, a cancer centre of excellence, will improve access to treatment for cancer patients at Mayo University Hospital; however, the 96 new beds are not expected to be delivered until 2028.

There were heartfelt and moving tributes today at the funeral of a Mayo woman who lost her life in a tragic drowning accident. Westport-native Cathy Hughes passed away on Sunday following the accident at Old Head.

These works will be completed ahead of the re-opening.

On Saturday, June 29th, the North West London community came together to support a fundraising event for the family of Frank McHale.  Frank sadly passed away suddenly on St Stephen’s Day 2023 in his hometown of Newport in West Mayo.
