Mayo bakery closing its doors Popular Castlebar bakery Cake My Day has announced it will be closing.

The Hopkins Road business made the announcement on social media this morning.

“It’s with mixed emotions that we share some heartfelt news. After 12 wonderful years of baking joy in Castlebar, Cake my Day will be closing its doors on Saturday, February 10th,” said proprietors Brian and Bernie Campbell.

They said rising costs contributed to the difficult decision and paid tribute to their loyal customers.

Unfortunately, the substantial rise in costs, from electricity to ingredients to rates, etc., this has created obstacles that we, despite our best efforts, find insurmountable.

'We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has been a part of our journey. To our regular customers who made Cake My Day their go to spot, thank you for your support over the years, great memories and we appreciate you.

'As we approach our final day on Saturday, February 10th, we invite you to join us in bidding farewell. Our shelves will be stocked with all your favourite cakes and breads throughout the week and we’d love to see you one last time”.
