New Opel Frontera SUV arrives in dealerships

The new Opel Frontera is described as rugged, spacious, ultra-modern and packaged in a range of bright new colours.

The all-new Opel Frontera SUV has arrived at Opel dealerships nationwide priced from sub-€25,000.

The new Frontera is available in three trims and as a five-seater at launch, with a seven-seat version due before the end of the year priced from €33,595 plus delivery-related charges.

Frontera is described as rugged, spacious, ultra-modern and packaged in a range of bright new colours. The car features wide-opening rear doors to allow easy access for passengers and baby seats, up to 460 litres of luggage space rising to 1,594 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Customers have a choice of two petrol hybrid versions (100hp and 136hp) and two all-electric versions; a 44kW 113hp 300km range version is available from launch here with a 54kW 113hp 400km range version due in 2026.

Frontera is priced from €26,480 inclusive of grants for the electric powertrain or from €30,095 for the petrol hybrid version. A big list of standard equipment is offered with each.

Renault 4 E-Tech

The Renault 4 E-Tech electric, which retains all the practicality and versatility of the original Renault 4’s design, is now available at dealerships priced from €27,995, including SEAI grant.

The car is larger than the Renault 5.

Available in three trim levels of Evolution, Techno, and Iconic and with the option of an electric canvas roof on the latter two next summer, the car has increased ground clearance and suspension optimised for a smoother, more comfortable ride.

Evolution is available with 30kWh battery with 120hp and the 52kWh battery powers a 150, 245Nm electric motor that accelerates the car from 0-100km/h in 8.2 seconds with an electric range of up to 410km. Techno and iconic are also available with the 52kWh battery. Up to 26 advanced driver assistance systems are available. Boot space is 420-1,405 litres.

The model is one of seven finalists shortlisted for the prestigious European Car of the Year 2026 award which will be announced in early January 2026.
