'Swore on my dog's life' - Mayo native reveals how they won life-changing money

Over €680,000 in prize money was claimed at National Lottery HQ today, with two players from Dublin and a Mayo player all celebrating their fantastic wins in the National Lottery’s exclusive winner's room.
The player from County Mayo won an incredible €500,000 from the EuroMillions Plus draw on Tuesday, 21st January. The Mayo player purchased their winning ticket online.
Speaking to the National Lottery, the winner said:
“I was in the break room in work when I checked my ticket. I immediately rang my partner and told her the good news. She didn’t believe me and thought I was winding her up. She told me to swear on my dog's life. Only when I swore on my dog’s life did she believe me!”
Asked about how they intend to use their winnings, the winner said:
“It’s not every day you win €500,000 and I look forward to properly marking the occasion. A once-in-a-lifetime trip is on the cards, a first-class ticket to somewhere off the beaten track!”
