Prices revealed for five new affordable homes in Mayo

A small number of affordable houses have been offered for sale in Westport with prices ranging from €232,000 to €259,000.
A total of five homes, consisting of three-bed units, are being made available for sale by Mayo County Council at the Golf Course Road, Westport, under the Affordable Purchase Arrangement as set out in the Affordable Housing Act 2021. The three bed homes will generally be available only for first-time buyers who do not own a home (although a small number of exceptions apply).
A price of €232,000 is being quoted for three-bed terrace homes while €243,000 is the asking price for three-bed semi-detached homes. An end-of-terrace three-bed home will cost €259,000.
Minister of State Alan Dillon has welcomed the news.
“Since my appointment as Minister of State at the Department of Housing, I’ve worked tirelessly to deliver affordable housing for Mayo, and this is just the beginning. I’m determined it will be the first of many such schemes across the county,” he said.
Applications for the scheme will open on January 17th, 2025, via an online portal. Interested applicants can visit the housing section on Mayo.ie for more details.
Minister Dillon expressed his thanks to the Westport Municipal District councillors and Mayo County Council officials for their support in making this initiative a reality.
