Popular west Mayo restaurant to close after 14 years in trade

The Pantry & Corkscrew Restaurant in Westport has announced they are closing their premises after 14 years.

Owners Dermott and Janice said they have soul searched and grappled with this decision over the last year but feel the time is right for a change with continuing increases in costs across the board which have been well published to date.

However, they are working on a new project which will be at the same premises on Lower Peter Street.

They will continue to trade until Sunday, February 18.

They thanked their customers and suppliers over the years who supported them.

"We have had an incredible and exciting journey to this point and reached heights we never thought possible since opening our doors in 2010," the restaurant said on Facebook.
