Popular Mayo restaurant to temporarily close this month

The West Bar & Restaurant in Westport has announced it will temporarily close for three weeks to facilitate improvement works.

In a Facebook post, the business said: "We are approaching our fourth year back in business here at The West and we are again closing for 3 weeks in January from the 6th to the 31st to get internal works and improvements done. 

"I’d like to take this opportunity in wishing all of our valued customers and the general public a very healthy and happy new year.

"We are overwhelmed by the support we’ve received this Christmas and delighted to see the success of the new kitchen downstairs. The last piece of the jigsaw is now underway.

"Look forward to seeing you all in February. Martin & Team."
