Outstanding Leaving Cert results for Erris students

School communities in the Erris region have expressed their delight with the performance of their Leaving Cert classes of 2026.

The school community of St Brendan’s College wishes to congratulate Leaving Certificate student Hugh Ruane, who has been named the recipient of the Anne Staunton Award for Academic Excellence for 2026.

This prestigious recognition follows Hugh’s outstanding achievement of 570 points in the Leaving Certificate examinations, a truly exceptional result, including H1 grades in HL Maths, Biology and Engineering.

The school also congratulates Hugh’s classmates who achieved results in excess of 500 points, significantly surpassing the national average and continuing the proud tradition of academic excellence among the students of St Brendan’s College.

Our Lady's Secondary School has congratulated Eileen Wu who is this year’s winner of the Mai Murphy Cup for achieving the highest results in the Leaving Certificate 2026!

Eileen, who is also a proud past pupil of Belmullet National School, achieved an outstanding total of 555 points from her exams. Everyone in the school is so delighted for Eileen and wishes her every success in the future!

There were smiles all around recently as the school welcomed back the Leaving Certificate students to celebrate their excellent results! Our Lady's Secondary School is so proud of this exceptionally hard-working, talented, and kind group of young people who are sure to go on to achieve amazing things.

The school is delighted that so many students exceeded their own expectations, and hope each and every one takes great pride in what they have achieved.The school celebrate every single member of the Class of 2026.

Meanwhile, the board of management and staff of Gaelcholáiste Chomáin would like to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Leaving Certificate Class of 2026 on the outstanding results they achieved.

The college wish them every success, happiness, and good fortune as they embark on the next stages of their lives, whether in education, training, or their future careers.

Congratulations to Ciarán Ó Broin, this year’s recipient of the Ailbhe Ní Ghearbháin Memorial Cup. This is a magnificent achievement and a well-deserved honour.
