More All-Ireland glory for Mayo
Glór na Sí, representing Foxford-based Admiral Brown CCÉ, who have taken first place in the 12-15 Grúpaí Ceoil at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast.
Needless to say it’s been a wonderful couple of weeks for Mayo on the football field but attention this weekend has turned to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the world’s premier competitions for traditional music, song and dance.
Taking place in Belfast, record crowds are attending. On Saturday, there was a very significant victory for Co Mayo when Glór na Sí, representing Foxford-based Admiral Brown CCÉ, won first place in the ultra-competitive 12-15 Grúpaí Ceoil.
They are under the musical direction of brothers Stephen and Tom Doherty.
