Mayo TD Dara Calleary appointed to Senior Minister role

Mayo TD Dara Calleary has made a return to Ministerial ranks in the new cabinet under Taoiseach Micheál Martin that was announced today.
The Ballina native will be the new Minister for Social Protection, Rural Affairs and the Gaeltacht taking over the role from retired Fine Gael TD Heather Humphries.
Deputy Calleary previously served as Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine for a brief period and served as Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in the last Government.
Jack Chambers, whose father is from Newport, is the new Minister for Public Expenditure.
Other changes announced today include Paschal Donoghue becoming Finance Minister, Helen McEntee moving to Education, James Browne to Housing and Darragh O'Brien to Transport and Energy.
