Man arrested following seizure of drugs in Sligo

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region, Gardaí in Sligo seized around €150,000 worth of cannabis and arrested a man on 23rd March, 2025.

The Sligo Detective Unit searched a residential property in the Cranmore area and found a total of 7.5kg of cannabis, with an estimated street value of €150,000.

A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested and is currently being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
