Gardaí seize drugs in Mayo operation

Gardaí from the MRL Drugs Unit in Mayo conducted an operation in Westport throughout the St Patrick's weekend.
A number of premises were searched under warrant and during the course of the operation several seizures of Cocaine, Cannabis and MDMA were made.
A vehicle was also stopped and following a search, eight deals of suspected cocaine were recovered concealed in a cigarette box (see pictured).
“As can be seen from the attached photo, cocaine does not come with a warning label attached, but of course it is every bit as deadly and can result in impaired decision making, intoxicated driving, debt and drug related intimidation,” said An Garda Siochana.
“Drug seizures like this help to protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the criminality associated with it.”
