Gardaí conduct number of checkpoints in Mayo

Gardaí from the Roads Policing Unit conducted a number of multi-agency checkpoints in the Mayo Division yesterday. 

Agencies involved in the checkpoints were the RSA, Customs, Social Welfare, and the Garda Immigration Unit.

There were a number of HGV's inspected, with some vehicles having bald tyres and not having their CPC cards up to date.

There was also a motorist who was detected to have cocaine in their system and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
