The annual Stephen’s Day Charity Dip in Crossmolina was yet again a major success.
The event raised €7,866 with large crowds turning out and supporting the endeavour.
People were delighted to be meeting up and catching up with neighbours, friends and old acquaintances from near and far, enjoying dipping or sipping the treats on offer.
“A massive thank you to all who helped to make this event such a success. It just doesn’t happen. To the volunteers who worked happily and willingly and also brought food and drink thank you,” said the organisers.
They paid tribute to local businesses and all those who donated and helped to raise funds.
“Also thank you to the businesses who generously donated. Anthony Gill, Churchfield Home Services, Mr Price, ODonnell's Centra, Wispeys, Connacht Gold Milk. Donoghue's Bakery, O'Hara's, Hiney's, Falcon Fruits, Noreen Carey and Family and Mulhern's Gala and Applegreen.
"A very big thank you to the businesses who took sponsorship cards and raised great amounts too. To those who donated via Revolut and via the AIB account Thank You. Everyone’s generosity is very much appreciated as it’s a constant for people being asked to give. We can’t forget our wonderful photographer Eileen Rowland and drone footage professionally done by Rachel Langan and Niamh Gill.”
The money raised will be divided up between a number of organisations – Crossmolina Town Hall (€2,200); Crossmolina Social Services (€2,200); and €1,000 each to River Moy Search & Rescue, Grainne Uaile Search & Rescue, and Teach an Uisce Search & Rescue.
The organisers congratulated their neighbours in Ardagh for their successful run/walk before the charity dip.
