Uisce Eireann will deliver the project

t Work is set to begin this month on a €3.8 million upgrade of Ballaghaderreen’s wastewater plant, with the project being delivered by Uisce Éireann.

Works will include the construction of a new storm tank, upgrades to the wastewater treatment process, improvements to pumping infrastructure and enhancements to monitoring and operational control systems.

David Sharry, Programme Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "We are delighted to see work getting underway on this important investment for Ballaghaderreen. The project will strengthen the town's wastewater treatment infrastructure, improve operational performance and resilience, and support environmental compliance. This investment demonstrates Uisce Éireann's commitment to delivering sustainable wastewater services that support communities and protect the environment. We would like to thank local residents and businesses for their patience and cooperation as these essential works progress."
