ALERT: Weather warning in place for Mayo and Ireland from this evening

A Status Yellow Low Temperature/Ice warning will be in place for Ireland this evening and through tonight.

Met Éireann say it will be very cold with widespread frost and ice as temperatures fall to -3 degrees or below in many areas.

The weather warning is valid from 6pm this evening (Thursday, January 2) until 11am tomorrow (Friday, January 3).
