ALERT: New weather warning issued for three West of Ireland counties

Met Éireann say it will be extremely cold with widespread severe frost and ice, along with lying snow in some areas, and patches of freezing fog.
Three west of Ireland counties have been included in a new Met Éireann weather warning.
The latest Status Orange Low Temperature/Ice warning has been issued for 15 counties, which includes Galway, Leitrim and Roscommon.
The weather warning is valid from 7pm this evening (Thursday, January 9) until 8am tomorrow (Friday, January 10).

Met Éireann say it will be extremely cold with widespread severe frost and ice, along with lying snow in some areas, and patches of freezing fog.
Impacts include dangerous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot, travel disruption/delays, animal welfare issues and poor visibility.
