ALERT: Mayo roads to close to facilitate popular event

Notice is hereby given that it is the Intention of Mayo County Council to temporarily close roads. The reason for the closures is to facilitate Westport Marathon 2025.

Periods of closure and alternative roads are set out below: 

1. From 07:00 to 15:00 Saturday 05/04/2025 - ROADS CLOSED: Access road to Roman Island L-5842-6 Access road L-5842-7 from its junction with the L1801 (the Towers) to its Junction with the L-5842 (Roman island road) - DIVERSIONS: Open to local traffic only

2. From 08:00 to 14:00 Saturday 05/04/2025 - ROADS CLOSED: Coast Road L-1801 from its junction with the Ardmore Road L-2803 to its junction with the West Road R-335 - DIVERSIONS: Open to local traffic only L-2803 Ardmore Road L-5841 Cloneen L-5840 Streamstown L-1801 Quay Road N-59

3. From 08:00 to 14:00 Saturday 05/04/2025 - ROADS CLOSED: Ardmore Road L-2803-1 from its junction with the Cloghan Road L-58411 to its junction with the Coast Road L-1801 in a Northern direction only - DIVERSIONS: Open to local traffic only L-58411 Cloghan L-5841 Cloneen

Any objections or observations regarding the proposed temporary closures may be submitted in writing to Mayo County Council, not later than 4p.m. on Wednesday 19th of March 2025.
