Main musical attraction announced for popular Ballina event

Ballina.

National Heritage Week in Ballina, County Mayo, will take place from August 16th to 24th, 2025.

The event has announced the main musical attraction for this year's celebration.

The phenomenal NxNW (North by North West)

This dynamic quartet is made up of four of Ireland’s top musicians: Ryan Molloy (piano),  David Doocey (fiddle & strings),  Stephen Doherty (flutes & box),  Kieran Leonard (drums & percussion).

Together, they bring a powerful, genre-blending sound that’s as exciting as it is unforgettable.

Each member has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Seán Keane, Lúnasa, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Clannad, Celtic Woman, and Cian Ducrot – so you know you're in for something special.

NxNW will be playing on the Main Stage at the Post Office, with a special vocal guest artist joining them for the occasion – more on her soon.

And this is just the beginning… Heritage Day will feature a huge variety of acts performing across multiple stages throughout the town, from rising local talent to seasoned performers. Keep an eye out over the coming weeks as we shine a spotlight on each of them.

A full timetable of performances will follow shortly.
