People depend on this service to get to work, school, appointments and local services.”

Minister of State Alan Dillon TD has welcomed confirmation that the TFI Route 450 bus service will again operate from its terminus at Lourdies, Dooagh, Achill.

Minister Dillon said many local residents had raised concerns after the terminus was removed earlier this year.

“This is very welcome news for Dooagh and the wider Achill community,” said Minister Dillon. “People depend on this service to get to work, school, appointments and local services.”

He said the restoration of the terminus will make a real difference for local people and visitors.

“I worked closely with the National Transport Authority to get this resolved,” he said. “I am pleased they have now confirmed that the full service to Dooagh is being restored with immediate effect.”

Minister Dillon added that reliable public transport is vital for rural communities.

“This is about making sure people in Achill have access to the services they need,” he said. “I will continue to push for strong, dependable transport links across Mayo.”
