Unaccompanied learner driver caught doing 139km/h in 100km/h zone while on drugs

The Swinford Roads Policing Unit detected a car travelling 139km/h in a 100km/h zone yesterday along the N5.

The driver was an unaccompanied learner that tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis in a roadside drug test.

The vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested, Gardaí have confirmed.
