COMMUNITY NOTES: NORTH MAYO - WESTERN PEOPLE (MAY 12 EDITION)

Glowing tributes were paid and many memories were recalled at the funeral of the late Paddy O’Hora, Ballina and late of Rathnagoneen, Knockmore.

Paddy’s concelebrated Requiem Mass was held on Thursday last in St Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina. Large numbers gathered to pay their final respects to a great Knockmore and Ballina man who contributed so much to the enhancement of Knockmore club and Ballina Community Clean-up.

Paddy was heavily involved with the GAA, business and community and a leading figure within Knockmore GAA Club where he was elected President in 2025 and served as chairman for some years. He was a highly respected businessman, setting up Business Supplies, which he ran for over 30 years. He was also chairperson of Ballina Community Clean-Up. The committee spoke of him as a community hero who was always so approachable to every generation.

May he now rest in peace.
