The orange weather warning, which will be in place from 10pm on Friday (December 6) until 9am the following morning (December 7), will bring very strong and gusty northwest winds.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange Wind warning for Mayo amid the arrival of Storm Darragh tomorrow.

The weather warning, which will be in place from 10pm on Friday (December 6) until 9am the following morning (December 7), will bring very strong and gusty northwest winds.

Possible impacts include fallen trees, damage to power lines, very difficult travelling conditions, damage to temporary structures and wave overtopping. 

Kerry, Clare, Galway, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal have also been included in the weather warning.

A Status Yellow Wind warning and a Status Yellow Rain warning will also take effect from tomorrow.

The rainfall warning will be in place for Mayo from 10am on Friday until 10am on Saturday while the wind warning will be in place for the entire country from 3pm on Friday until 3pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow Wind warning is currently in effect for Mayo until 9pm tonight (Thursday, December 5).
