Road closed after man seriously injured overnight
Gardai are currently at the scene of a road traffic incident in Castlebar.
Gardaí in Castlebar are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the Moneen Road in Castlebar, that occurred in the early hours of this morning, Sunday May 3, at approximately 3.30am.
A male pedestrian, aged in his late 30s was seriously injured when a collision occurred between a car and the pedestrian. He was transferred from the scene to Mayo University Hospital and remains in a serious condition.
No other persons were injured.
The road remains closed and the scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to Gardaí.
