Revealed: The number of €1 million-plus homes sold in Mayo last year

The total value of the six homes was €7,470,000
Mayo had the highest number of transactions of luxury homes in Connacht during 2024, new figures have revealed.
Savills Ireland published data last week that showed there were six homes valued at more than €1m sold in Mayo in 2024. The total value of the six homes was €7,470,000, giving an average of €1.25 million per home. The only other Connacht counties to feature were Galway and Sligo at €4,649,000 and €4,112,000 respectively. In both counties, three homes were sold.
The prime country homes market in Ireland saw an impressive 44% increase in the total transaction value in 2024, reaching €275 million.
"This surge highlights a robust demand for luxury country homes, with the market far exceeding the 10-year average transaction value of €139 million," noted Savills Ireland.
Using Property Price Register data, Savills examined prime country home transactions, which are defined as transactions greater than one million euros and located outside of Dublin, the major regional cities, and north Wicklow.
Savills report noted that despite economic uncertainties and fluctuating global conditions, the luxury segment of Ireland's real estate market has shown remarkable resilience and attractiveness. The average transaction size held steady at €1.6 million across 168 deals, underscoring a stable high-end market.
Co Cork emerged as the leader with €84m in sales across 35 transactions. It was followed by Co Kildare with €64.5m from 40 transactions, while sales in Co Wicklow generated €21.6m from 18 deals. Counties Meath and Kerry also reported substantial activity, recording €16.4m and €13.4m in sales respectively.
