Public encouraged to engage with regional strategy discussion
The Mayo public is being encouraged to have its say on the future spatial and economic development of the wider Northern and Western Region.
The Northern and Western Regional Assembly (NWRA) is currently revising its Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy (RSES) 2020-2032 and has invited public feedback for the process.
The aim of the RESS is to provide a long-term strategy to deliver the transformational change necessary to achieve the objectives and vision of the NWRA.
Cllr Marie-Therese Duffy, who represents the Ballina Municipal District on the NWRA with Cllr Jarlath Munnelly, said they encourage people to have their say.
“The strategy is being revised at the moment and is so important. The role of the NWRA is to advocate for additional investment for the region and to balance regional development so that the west receives its fair share,” she said.
“I would encourage people to make their voices heard.”
