The weather warning, which will be valid until 9am on Friday (June 26), could see temperatures reach 28 to 31 degrees.

Met Éireann states that today will be cloudy with mist and fog patches to start, but sunny spells will develop through the day. While many areas will stay dry, a few spots of light rain and drizzle are possible at times, mainly in the west. Warm or very warm and humid with highest temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees in light variable breezes.

It will be exceptionally hot and humid in Mayo tomorrow (Thursday, June 25). Apart from a few patches of drizzle in the northwest early on, it will be dry with good sunshine for most. There is the chance of thunderstorms developing later in the day, most likely in the west and northwest. Highest temperatures of 28 to 31 degrees generally, possibly a bit warmer locally, with light to moderate east to southeast breezes, becoming gusty in any thunderstorms.
