Mayo venue pays tribute to legendary music artist

Castlebar's TF Royal Hotel and Theatre honoured legendary American country singer and actor Kris Kristofferson with a heartfelt tribute in a Facebook post.

Kristofferson, widely recognized for his role alongside Barbra Streisand in A Star Is Born, graced the stage at the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre five times. His first appearance at the Castlebar venue was in 1993, and his final performance, in 2018, played to a sold-out audience.

At the age of 88, Kristofferson died peacefully in his home in Hawaii on September 28.

The TF Royal Hotel and Theatre said in a Facebook post: “A defining figure in country music, Kris will be remembered as a multi-talented singer-songwriter, actor and scholar. His enduring legacy will influence generations of future musicians. RIP Kris Kristofferson.”
