Mayo shoppers reminded that every little helps this Easter
The collection runs from this Thursday, March 26 to Sunday, March 28.
Shoppers across Co Mayo are being invited to help local families this Easter by taking part in Tesco Ireland’s ‘Stronger Starts’ Easter food collection.
The collection runs from this Thursday, March 26 to Sunday, March 28 where Tesco shoppers are invited to help in a simple but meaningful way: by donating just one item of non perishable food during their weekly shop.
Easter can bring added financial pressure for many families so Tesco, alongside its charitable partners FoodCloud, the Family Resource Centre Network and local voluntary organisation Cairdeas FRC, is encouraging its Mayo customers to pick up just one extra cupboard staple such as pasta, rice, porridge or tinned food and place it in the donation trolley at the front of participating stores. Volunteers from local community groups will be on hand throughout the weekend to collect donations and ensure they reach families who need them most.
Tesco will top up all customer donations by an additional 20%.
