A Mayo school has announced its closure.
In a social media statement, Westport's Drummin National School said: "After a lifetime of learning and laughter, Drummin National School will conclude its journey.
"Last week, we received official confirmation from the Department that the school will close at the end of June.
"We would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported, encouraged and contributed to the life of the school these past 5 years, and in the many years previous- past and present families and students, staff members, Boards of Management, neighbours and friends of the school. Your kindness, generosity and goodwill have helped create something truly special for the children here that will continue long after the doors close.
"On Wednesday, 17th June, we will hold a graduation and end-of-year celebration from 1.00pm to 2.30pm for the current students.
"Following this, from 2.30pm onwards, we would be delighted to welcome all those who have been a part of the Drummin National School story over the years to visit for tea and cake.
"As this much-loved chapter ends, we take great pride in all that has been achieved here and look forward to seeing the many paths our pupils will follow in the years ahead."
