Major name makes visit to Mayo's Ballinrobe Races

US Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk was in Mayo yesterday when he took in the Ballinrobe Races during his visit to Ireland.

The 2027 Ryder Cup will be held in Limerick's Adare Manor as Furyk gears up the US's preparations for the prestigious golf tournament.

Furyk was also spotted attending the Limerick hurlers' victory over Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds over the weekend.

Next year's Ryder Cup takes place in September, with tickets costing €500 for the matchdays (Friday, September 17 to Sunday, September 19).

The European side, led once again by captain Luke Donald, is aiming to make it three wins in a row against the USA.
