The blaze devastated the iconic Erris pub.

There is devastation in Erris this morning following a blaze that devastated one of the area’s most famous bars.

The legendary High Chapparal pub in Geesala has been extensively damaged in a fire. The premises, run by the Munnelly family, was famous for its music sessions and was a focal point for the community.

The fire broke out around 4am and was brought under control by firefighters but not before the building sustained serious damage. There were no injuries reported.
