Heartfelt tributes to a ‘beautiful soul’

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a young Leitrim woman whose tragic death has occurred in Ballina.
The body of Róisín Cryan was recovered from the River Moy on Saturday morning.
A native of Attyrory, Carrick-on-Shannon who was living and working in Ballina, Róisín has been remembered among many tributes posted on
as ‘a beautiful person, inside and out,’ as ‘friendly and humble’ and a ‘beautiful soul’.A search had been ongoing in the Ballina area since Thursday and Gardaí and emergency services recovered Ms Cryan’s body shortly after 10am on Saturday.
Róisín is the forever cherished daughter of Joe and Marguerite and loving fiancé of well-known Mayo footballer Conor Loftus. Conor is a member of the Crossmolina Deel Rovers team that was due to play the All-Ireland Club intermediate championship final at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon. The GAA have postponed that match until a later date.
Róisín is also survived by her adored sisters Annmarie, Clare, Ruth and Maeve, and will also be sadly missed by Clare’s fiancé Eugene, the Loftus family, aunts, uncles, cousins relatives, as well as by neighbours, work colleagues and a large circle of friends.
Pre-deceased by grandparents William and Mai Cryan, Bernard and Annie Donohue, her cousin Michael, aunt Mary and uncle Hughie, the funeral arrangements for Róisín Cryan are as follows:
Reposal at The Heritage Centre, Chapel of Rest, Church Lane, Carrick-on-Shannon on Monday, January 13 from 3pm until 7pm.
Removal to St Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon on Tuesday evening arriving at 6pm.
Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in Drumlion Cemetery.
House strictly private at all times please.
The Cryan and Loftus family have said they appreciate everybody’s sympathy, support and understanding at this difficult time and have requested, if desired, that donations in lieu of flowers would be made to Grainne Uaille Sub Aqua Club and River Moy Search and Rescue.
