Garda update on discovery of body in Mayo

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a male in his 30s was found unresponsive at a residential property in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, shortly after 9 am on Thursday 7th May 2026. 

He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

His body was removed from the scene, and a technical examination of the scene has now been completed.

A post-mortem examination has since been conducted, the results of which are not being made public.
