Gardaí released this image as an example of the illegal parking they encountered in Ballina.
Gardaí in Ballina have targeted motorists caught parking without the requisite permission in disabled bays around the town.
Ballina Community Gardaí participated in Operation Enable and #MakeWayDay which has been developed as part of a working relationship built up between An Garda Síochána and Disability Federation of Ireland. The operation aims to pro-actively target parking on footpaths and disabled bays.
While on patrol in Ballina, the gardaí encountered a number of motorists who were parking in disabled bays without displaying a disabled person's parking permit.
They issued a number of fixed charge notices which come with a penalty of €150.
