East Mayo mourns heartbreaking loss of much-loved veterinary surgeon

The Swinford and East Mayo area has been plunged into sadness following the news of the passing of much-loved veterinary surgeon Brendan Mullaney.

Brendan, of Kilbride, Swinford, passed away following a short illness.

The father-of-five was a highly respected vet and a hugely popular figure in his community.

Brendan will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, wife Regina (Carley), his children Rachel, Sarah, Katie, Shane and David, his parents Frank and Celia Mullaney (Kiltimagh), brothers Bernard, John and Kevin, sisters Marian and Hilary, the Carley family, sisters-in-law Eithne, Svetlana and Hilary’s partner Scott, nieces, nephews, aunts, family circle, neighbours and many friends.

There were many online tributes to Brendan following the news of his passing.

Words of condolences paid tribute to an outstanding veterinary surgeon and a "true gentleman."

Reposal takes place at Campbell’s Funeral home, Swinford on Friday May 8 from 3pm until 7pm.

Brendan’s Funeral Mass will take place in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Swinford at 2.30pm on Saturday, May 9 prior to burial in Kilconduff Cemetery.
