Councillors approve refurbishment of Mayo playground

Local councillors have approved a refurbishment for Ballycroy playground in order to bring it up to standard for community use. 

Senior Planner with Mayo County Council, John McMyler, recommended the refurbishment of the existing playground at Tallagh, Ballycroy to members of Westport-Belmullet Municipal District at their meeting last week.

Mr McMyler said he had examined the site while having regard to the Mayo County Development Plan policy of identifying and facilitating the development of suitable sites for community facilities within the county, particularly in newly developing areas. It was also noted that sites of this kind should be easily accessible for walking and cycling and promote the use of public transport.
