Church of Ireland announces Christmas services and concerts in West Mayo

The Aughaval group of Church of Ireland parishes has just released a list of their services and concerts set to take place over the Christmas period. Tomorrow evening, December 11th, a Medieval Christmas concert will be held in Holy Trinity Westport featuring the Louisburgh Voices at 8pm, while on Sunday, December 22nd, there will be two concerts by the Chapel Street Gospel Choir in Christ Church in Castlebar at 5pm and 8pm.
The following are the Christmas services:
Friday, December 13th – Advent Carol Service in St Thomas’s Dugort at 8pm.
Sunday, December 15th – Service of Nine Lessons and Carols in Holy Trinity Church, Westport at 7pm. At this service there will be contributions by St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Choir in Westport plus local musicians. Santa is also expected to drop in so children are especially welcome to attend.
Sunday, December 22nd - Holy Communion in St Thomas’s Dugort, Achill at 3pm. On the same day there will be a carol service at 5pm in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Westport.
Christmas Eve - Holy Communion in Turlough at 7pm.
Christmas Day- Holy Communion will be celebrated in Christ Church in Castlebar at 9.30am and in Holy Trinity Westport at 11am.
Rev, Suzanne Cousins, who is the rector of the group of churches, says all are very welcome to attend any of these special services and she wishes everyone in the various communities a peaceful and joyous Christmas.
