'Caught my eye' - major lottery wins in Mayo town

A Mayo woman recently celebrated her windfall of €45,000 on a Fire 4s Ice 5s scratch card, that she picked up from Kavanagh’s SuperValu, Claremorris.

“I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, and that specific scratch card caught my eye – it was the first time I've ever purchased it. Even after the win, I bought another one that had a €25 prize on it!” 

Although it’s taken some time from the shock of win to settle in, she’s planning to put her newfound fortunes towards a trip to Romania.

The win came just weeks after a Mayo man travelled to National Lottery HQ in Dublin to collect a cheque for €31,916, which was won by matching five numbers and the bonus in the Lotto draw on November 27th last. The winning ticket was purchased at Hollymount Stores.
