Atlantic Care is continuing to make a strong impact across Mayo, supporting people to live independently in their own homes with dignity and compassion.

Founded in 2023 by experienced professionals in nursing, training and social care, the company has quickly grown into an Irish leading Home Care Agency serving clients in Mayo, Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal, Roscommon, Westmeath and surrounding areas. Its mission is simple — to provide essential services that help people maintain their independence and quality of life.

Regional Manager for Mayo, Jackie Henry says the organisation’s success comes down to its caregivers.

“We employ, provide training and support extraordinary people to carry out an exceptional job,” he said.

Recognising the dedication of our Caregiver’s is central to Atlantic Care’s ethos. Each month, a Caregiver from each region is honoured for demonstrating Atlantic Care’s core values of Dignity, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence. The initiative reflects a broader philosophy within Atlantic Care: that Caregiver s must be cared for too.

Our caregiver of the year, Michelle McNally Smith, was announced on Friday 27th Feb.

“We are very lucky to have some of the most dedicated, compassionate and kind-hearted caregivers working with us,” Jackie added.

The company continues to recruit new team members and offers full training, including QQI Level 5 Care Skills and Care of the Older Person, along with additional mandatory training. Atlantic Care supports those considering a career change and guides new recruits through the qualification process.

With a growing and diverse workforce, Atlantic Care remains committed to both client wellbeing and staff support. Following the Caregiver of the Year announcement, Jackie says this event is a celebration of every caregiver making a difference in homes across Mayo each day.

Jackie concludes with a message of gratitude and encouragement: “We will continue to support and recognise all the amazing people who work for Atlantic Care, because we truly value all our caregivers and are lucky to work alongside them every day.
