'Blaggards' left broken glass scattered around playground leaving it unsafe
A south Mayo councillor has called for greater levels of fencing to be installed at a children's playground after it had been vandalised.
Cllr Michael Burke raised concerns at yesterday's meeting of the Claremorris-Swinford Municipal District over anti-social activity at Ballinrobe playground.
"Blaggards went into the playground and broke bottles. There was so much broken glass that the children couldn't play in it," he said.
"We have to bring in a greater fencing system to deter this behaviour," he added. Cllr Burke commended teams who went in to clean up the glass.
