A Mayo councillor said he is baffled by a decision to bypass a village with a designated bus shelter.
Cllr Michael Kilcoyne raised the issue in Straide at last week’s meeting of Castlebar Municipal District.
He said bus providers no longer stop at the bus stop in Straide which boasts a bus shelter. Cllr Kilcoyne said residents must go to Foxford to catch the bus where, ironically, no shelter exists.
“Even if the shelter is [in Straide] they decide to stop in Foxford where there is no bus shelter,” said Cllr Kilcoyne.
