Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC U11 girls played their first ever game last week against Carrick in Cleveragh where all girls played brilliantly and loved the experience of playing as a team. They also came away with the win.

The late John Rouse

The death has taken place of John Rouse, Moyvale, Ballina, formerly of Park Villa, Enniscrone, on Tuesday, December 10, peacefully and suddenly at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his father John, mother Bridget and sister Mary.

John was the dearly loved husband of Rose and beloved father of Caroline Kilgallon (Sligo), Joan O’Connor (Enniscrone) and Kieran (Blessington). He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughters, son, brother Frank (Waterford), Kitty and family, sons-in-law Jarlath and Stuart, daughter-in-law Niamh, grandchildren Luke, Robyn, Milo, Evie, Conor, Arthur, Louis and Sadie, sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended members of the Rouse, Ryan and Shiels families, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

John reposed at McGowan’s Funeral Home, Ballinam on Friday evening, December 13, from 5.30 with removal at 7pm to the Church of Our Lady Assumed Into Heaven, Enniscrone. Requiem Mass was held on Saturday afternoon, December 14, at 1.30pm followed by burial in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Enniscrone. May John rest in peace.

The numbers drawn in the Enniscrone combined football clubs blotto draw which was held on Sunday, December 8, was 25, 36 and 42. There was no jackpot winner and the €25 prizewinners were Diane Lavin, Dermot O’Regan, Catherine Whittle and Tommy McNulty. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on Sunday, December 15, in the Ocean Sands Hotel was €10,200.

Eoghan Rua Ladies weekly lotto

The numbers drawn in the Eoghan Rua Ladies weekly lotto which was held on December 9, was 4, 12, 23 and 32. The €30 consolation prizewinners were Colin and Jeanette Scott, Muredach Munnelly, Damian Melvin, Padraic and Amanda Gibon, Crumlin Children’s Hospital. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on December 16, was €18,000.

Easkey Enhancement Association are back with the annual New Year’s Day Dip which will be held at Munnellys Cove, Easkey at 11am on January 1.

Enniscrone Church Parish Shop

The parish shop in Enniscrone church is open each weekend. On Fridays from 12 noon to 4pm; Saturdays 12 noon to 6pm and other times on request. They have a large range of grave lights, November candles, prayer cards, books, statues etc. People are welcome to call in to browse and all money raised in the shop goes to the church. Indoor Food and Craft Market

The Indoor Food and Craft Market is held in the Old Church, Main Street, Enniscrone, every Saturday from 11am to 3pm, featuring a wide range of handmade gifts, jewellery, paintings, plants and flowers, home baking, vegetables, fresh fish, bric a brac and local crafts. Please go along and enjoy a coffee and some home baking.

Bingo

Bingo takes place every Tuesday at 8pm with doors opening at 7pm. There is always free tea and coffee on offer. All are welcome to come along and support, and be in with a chance to win. All money raised goes to Western Gaels.

The numbers drawn in the Castleconnor GAA lotto which was held on Saturday, December 7, was 10, 27, 28 and 36. There was no jackpot and no match three winners. The lucky dip winner of €50 was Bernard Guthrie. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on December 14, was €24,600.

Castleconnor First Responders

The Castleconnor First Responser Group is raising funds to purchase additional defibrillators and training equipment, ensuring volunteers are ready for incidents such as chest pains, strokes, and cardiac arrests within the community.

Upon receiving a call, the National Ambulance Service will immediately notify the First Responders, who will provide crucial support, CPR, and defibrillation as needed until the ambulance arrives. Jingle and Mingle

Castleconnor Community Council are hosting their annual Christmas Party fundraiser on Sunday, December 22, from 11am to 2pm at Castleconnor Community Centre. This is a wonderful festive event that brings the whole community together while raising funds for the day to day running of the community centre. There will be a cake sale, raffles, music, face-painting, complimentary food and drink and you can also meet Santa.
