Dacia Spring due here this summer

The Spring is aimed at those looking for simple, affordable, and efficient zero-emission mobility.

Orders for the new Dacia Spring electric car will open in Ireland this spring with a planned market launch in the summer, writes Trish Whelan.

First launched in European markets in 2021, the Spring is aimed at those looking for simple, affordable, and efficient zero-emission mobility and who do mostly urban and local driving with the option of 45hp and 65hp motors, a rated range of some 220km and energy consumption of 14.6kWh/100km or lower. Regenerative braking has also been added to the specification. Over 140,000 Dacia Spring cars have been registered worldwide since its launch.

Charging from 20pc to 100pc takes 11 hours on a domestic outlet, four hours from a 7kW home callbox. An optional 30 kW DC charger is available for fast charging from 20pc to 80pc in 45 minutes.

Three grades will be offered; top grades will have a large 10-inch multimedia central screen.

Pricing has not yet been released for the Irish market.
