Fundraiser in aid of Mayo Roscommon Hospice

Dancing at the Crossroads Cong will hold a fundraising afternoon in aid of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice on Sunday, October 12, from 2 to 5pm, in the Crossroads Community Centre, Cong (Eircode F31PY97). There will be music by Stuart Moyles (3 to 4.30pm), with tea/coffee and refreshments served. Donations can be made at the door. Your support for this fundraiser would be appreciated.

Ballinrobe Bridge Club

Ballinrobe Bridge Club returned after the summer break and held a competition on Thursday, September 18. The results were as follows: 1st, Kathleen and Phil Walsh; first gross, William Enright and Angela Murphy; 2nd, Vincent Connell and Claire Mitchell; 3rd, Margaret Twibill and Mary O’Brien Timon; 4th, Emer Canny and Irene Walkin; 5th, Maureen Gallagher and Mary Connaughton.

Tacú Family Resource Centre

Pegg Brown was the winner €110 in last week’s 50/50 draw conducted by the Tacú Family Resource Centre.

Ballinrobe Women’s Shed

The Ballinrobe Women’s Shed Group meets every Monday from 11am to 1pm, in the building adjacent to the Water Towers, Kilmaine Road, (Eircode F31 XK09). The group is open to women aged 18 and over. Those taking part can share their skills and talents, have a chat, and a cup of tea/coffee. New members are welcome. Men’s Shed

The Men’s Shed group meets every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10am to 12.30pm, in the building adjacent to the Water Towers, Kilmaine Road, (Eircode F31 XK09). This group is open to men aged 18 and over, with new members welcome. A range of activities take place include music, woodwork, pottery, gardening, and is also open to men who just want to call in for a chat and a cup of tea/coffee. Ballinrobe Whist Club

The Ballinrobe Whist Club meet every Wednesday at 8pm in the Maple Youth Centre, Bowgate Street. New members are welcome.

Men’s Racquetball

Racquetball for men takes place every Monday night in the Lakeside Sport and Fitness Centre, from 9 to 9.30pm. All levels are welcome, and equipment will be provided.

Ballinrobe GAA Club

The U21 (B) championship will commence on Sunday, October 12, and Ballinrobe’s opening fixture is away to Hollymount-Carramore. Ballinrobe’s other opponents in the group are Carras, and Davitts.

The Ballinrobe Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others team took part in a recent blitz competition which was organised by Shrule/Glencorrib LGFA. There was some great football played on the day and it was a great social occasion for all involved. The Ballinrobe Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others team thank Trevor Burke from Flannery’s Bistro, Ballinrobe, for sponsoring jerseys for the team There was no winner of the €28,800 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Monday, September 29. The numbers drawn were 7, 19, 29 and 34. There were no match three winner.

Kilmaine Community Centre

There are wide range of activities taking place in the Kilmaine Community Centre over the coming months. Every Monday, at 10.30am, a class titled ‘Body Flow’ takes place, and this involves yoga, pilates, and Tai Chi. Every Wednesday, bridge takes place from 4 to 6pm, followed by a drama group (commencing October 22), from 8 to 9pm. Also, every Wednesday, a fitness class takes place in the venue from 7.30 to 8.30pm.

On Thursday’s, there is a chair yoga class from 2.30 to 3.30pm, with céilí dancing from 8.30 to 10.30pm.

Every Friday, Irish Dancing takes place from 5 to 6pm., with the ever-popular game of bingo every Sunday night at 8pm. Indoor soccer will also commence at the venue on October 24 and 25. There was no winner of the €2,700 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Tuesday, September 23. The numbers drawn were 7, 23, 25 and 32. The €30 winners were Marie Casey, and Pat Flannery. The €25 winners were Neil Winters, and Mags Malone.

Shrule/Glencorrib GAA Club lotto

There was no winner of the €30,000 lotto jackpot draw which was held on Monday, September 22. The numbers drawn were 17, 19, 33 and 34. The €25 winners were Conor O’Dowd, Kathleen Cotter, Ryan Gibbons, and Sheila Moran.

Garrymore GAA Club lotto

There was no winner of the €10,100 lotto jackpot draw which was held in Garrymore, on Sunday, September 21. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 8 and 19. The €50 winners were John Gibbons, Curraghroe, Stephen Higgins, Ballycushion, and Niamh Corcoran, Annfield.

The death took place of Annie Mae Gorman, Weatherfort, Ballyglass recently and sympathy is extended to her cousins, neighbours and friends; sympathy is extended to Marie Deasy, Currykirwan on the sudden death of her brother, Tom Mullaney, Cregg, Balla; sympathy is also extended to Breege Gavin, Brize on the death of her sister Hannah Schofield, Tavanaghmore, Foxford; and to Josephine Trench, Gowel, Mayo Abbey and Jimmy Hession, Ballyglass on the sudden death of their sister Marie Hession McMunn, Galway in an accident. May they all rest in peace.

The numbers drawn for the lotto which was held on Tuesday, September 23, were 17, 23, 25, and 34. There was no jackpot winner. Card Game

The next card game is held in Mayo Abbey Resource Centre on Thursday, October 16, at 9pm.
