There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday, January 31, in Sticks Bar. The numbers drawn were 6, 11, 16 and 28 and two punters matched three numbers; Cathal Carolan, Ballina Rd., Crossmolina, and Orlaith Garvey, c/o Andy Gray, Church View, Crossmolina and each won €75. This jackpot on Saturday, February 7, was €3,600.

Thank you to everyone who attended the ‘new look’ Tidy Towns meeting last week. Thank you to Peter Gill and Sharon Cameron from Mayo Co Council for their informative presentation. A follow up meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 11, at 7pm in the Enterprise Centre and anyone who missed the first one is welcome to come along. Working together as a community builds local pride and creates a lasting positive impact on our environment. Small actions like planting, litter picking or improving shared spaces help protect biodiversity and will make the town a healthier, more beautiful place for everyone.
To mark the forthcoming installation of Archbishop Francis Duffy as Bishop of Killala, a diocesan publication will be launched in the coming weeks. Written by Fr Brendan Hoban, the 260 A4 page For the Record will chronicle the history of the Diocese of Killala since its inception in 1111 a.d. to the present day and include a Chronology of Killala Diocese, a foreword by Archbishop Francis Duffy, lists of Killala Bishops, priests, religious brothers and religious sisters as well as a list of Killala Diocesan history sources and recent church refurbishments. For the Record marks this important milestone in history when our Diocese of Killala will be merged with the Archdiocese of Tuam.
Crossmolina Community Council are running a monthly book blub called Books & Banter. It will be held on the 3rd Monday of every month in the Enterprise Centre in Crossmolina Community Council CLG.
