Congratulations to Castleconnor U13s who won the league last week with a great team performance in testing conditions.
Water Safety Week with Water Safety Ireland, Sligo, will take place at Enniscrone Pier from July 21-26. This programme is Water Safety Ireland Certified and children will be taught essential lifesaving skills through theory and practical sessions.
Swim 1-5 is introduction to open water swimming and basic safety skills and is suitable for children aged 5+. Safety 1-4 is the introduction to personal safety and rescue skills and Rescue 1-4 entails rescue techniques and basic life support certification on completion of exam. Stepping Stones Childcare are running their Kids Summer Camp from July 8-12 for children aged 4 to 12 years old. It promises to be a week full of fun, arts and crafts, outdoor games, sports day, treasure hunt, and baking each day. The cost is €70 for the week and for further details contact 087 6117957.
The Black Pig Festival 2024 will take place from July 25-29, with lots of music, art, comedy, theatre, fun fair and lots more. Some of the music and comedy acts are Tabby Callaghan and Wi-Fi, Clare Sands, Graham Sweeney, Mike Hanrahan and Bridin, Doppler, Easkey Punk Choir, Vinyl Paul, Ceoltas Trad Group, relish Records, Mike Denver, Rosie Connolly, Abhainn Studio and Friends, comedian John Colleary and Niamh McGrath’s ‘Gombean’.
Other activities are markets, busking, story telling, Tonnta Adventure, exhibitions, sandcastle competition, teenage disco, harbour sup, duck race, pig on the spit, Black Pig fun run 5/10km, Waterpoint kids triathlon, art workshops with Facets Studio, Lollipop apparel and Hullabaloo Sports Day with Kilglass Enniscrone Utd.
There will be a Wellness Day with West Coast Wellness, Sage and Seer Emporium, Niamh Gallagher Coaching, CB Yoga Sligo and Cormac Noonan. During the Family Fun Day with Baby Boppers there is Jay Ryan, Flea Circus 250, Mr Majestic, Fierce Fun Faces and Eagles Flying.

Sanctuary Runners commenced a weekly summer stroll on Thursday evenings at 7pm with meeting point at the Lifeguard Tower on the beach. There are two route options to suit all abilities and is open to all. Bring a friend, meet new people, and go at your own pace. There will be someone to walk or talk with. Enniscrone Tidy Towns have put out their freshly painted Toy Library boxes on Enniscrone beach. There are buckets and spades available for children to borrow and play with in the sand. Just remember to leave them back in the box before going home. If you find toys abandoned on the beach please drop them into the box for others to play with. This is one example of sustainability, don’t dump, don’t waste, recycle and reuse. All that is needed is good, warm and bright sunny beach days.
Congratulations to Anna Jane Coen, Enniscrone Kilglass Community Games who won bronze in the Pitch and Putt County Community Games Finals held recently. Well done also to all the competitors who did very well on the day and played brilliantly.
The numbers drawn in the Enniscrone combined football clubs blotto draw which was held on Sunday, June 16, were 1, 4 and 17. The new updated Summer pool session timetable at Waterpoint is as follows: Monday to Friday 9-10am adults only (lanes), 10.30-12 noon, 12.30-2pm, 2.30-4pm, 4.30-6pm (Monday to Thursday) and 6.30-7.45pm (Monday to Thursday). On Friday from 4.30-6.30pm Inflatable. The timetable for Saturday and Sunday is 11am-12.30pm, 1-2.30pm, 3-4.30pm.

The annual lotto tickets for the 2024/25 season for the Eoghan Rua Ladies Football Club are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased online, can be arranged by messaging their Facebook page or by contacting any club member.
Tickets are €80 and include entry into all 52 weekly draws. Each week there are five €30 consolation prizes if the lotto is not won, with three €30 prizes designated to the annual ticket holders weekly. Each week the lotto prizes increases by €100. The jackpot at present is at it biggest ever - €15,100.
